So lots of stuff has been happening this past week. I was sneaky and surprised my family and friends for Christmas! It was a major success, with lots of tears and hugs to celebrate :) I had a fabulous few days home, and we didn't even do Christmas presents. Not even one :) I've always known what Christmas was all about, but this year, I felt it. When I came back home to the UK my boyfriend and I did exchange a few gifts from him and his parents which was really sweet.
For New Years we haven't planned anything... we will probably stay home and watch TV, or be adventurous and brave the cold by going into London to see the pretty fireworks. I guess we'll see how the mood is. Chances are tele and a warm house will win. :D
Also, I'm working on a comic project, but won't go into any detail just yet. I will write up some really rough drafts, and then try to get the wacom into good use instead of scanned in sketchbook drawings.
How is everyone's holiday week?

Love it! Too bad I didn't think of something like this. :| I love the simplicity, the font, and the subtle differences between the shades of olive color. (and just love the color olive...in clothes, shoes, web pages...). I've always loved dA's color scheme. :)

A few weeks ago we (my family) put our dog to sleep. He was the sweetest, cutest dog ever. I've had him since I was 14, so he was getting old and suffering. The process was a tough decision, but at least it made sense...End his suffering, let him into doggie heaven (or equivalent in whatever you believe, or don't believe). But now, our other dog, Skylar, has a cyst on his jaw :( Why?? Why now? It's an agressive one...not cancerous, but will keep coming back even if removed. If we have it removed, it will cost SO much money...about $5000. Ridiculous of course, but my goodness, how do you put a price on your beloved pet? Especially one that is so young...he's only about 7 years old. So if we do the surgery, it will cost alot, and he might suffer, since about 1/3 of his jaw will be removed. And then there's a risk of it coming back. But then again, he might be just fine and the continue being the happy, cute fluffy doggie he is.
What would you do? ;(

This week is the start of the IBC Trade show in Amsterdam, which I'll be a part of, demonstrating my company's digital signage products. I'm very nervous! My co-workers say it's easy, but it's still new to me. I'm sure I'll be ok after the first day, but even so, ahh! Wish me luck! Then I'm off to Portugal for a few days with my co-workers/girlfriends, so that should be nice :) After I come home on Sunday, I'll be home for 6 days and then off on holiday on a small cruise to Corfu (Greece) that goes around the Adriatic Sea hitting Croatia, Italy and back to Greece. I'm looking forward to that! Especially the hot weather! I need sun!
I'm finally working on my Ubuntu PC aka (the purple box). I bought a Samsung Synmaster SM2232BW LCD monitor, which has a glossy bezel and 22" screen...it's very nice and at £155, a great price :) Amazon rocks. Pictures to come eventually. Also bought a wirless adapter for it which was detected right away... so far Ubuntu has been very friendly for me, detecting all my devices. I worked on a couple of countdown banners for the release of Ubuntu 8.10 in October. You can check them out here :)
